Help Sew Bags for the Bagshare Join us! All ages and abilities can help! No experience necessary! Bring a sewing machine if you have one. If not, machines and fabric will be provided. Stop in to say hello, bring friends. Help fill out tags or cut fabric if you don't want to sew. Please sign up at Cornucopia, or just stop in! Donate your old neckties to the Bagshare! We use them as handles for our bags. Fabric donations, webbing, thread and sewing supplies are also appreciated! The Bagshare Project wasconceived by Leni Fried and Amy Pulley. It debuted in March of 2007 at The Old Creamery Grocery in Cummington, MA. The mission of the Bagshare is to reduce and eventually eliminate the use of disposable plastic and paper bags by training people to bring their own. Volunteers sew bags for participating stores and customers can borrow them when they forget their own bag. The bagshare bag can be returned to any bagshare location. The bags are made from scrap fabric, preventing fabric waste as well as disposable bags from going into our landfill.
Do you have bags to return? Please bring them back! Thanks!! |
